<\/a><\/p>\nAuch Milit\u00e4rhubschrauber haben wir dort gesehen und mit Besatzungsmitgliedern geredet. Danach hatten wir noch die Chance ins RAAF Museum zu gehen, wo ich mich \u00fcber eine m\u00f6gliche Zukunft als Arzt beim Milit\u00e4r informieren hab k\u00f6nnen. Dann war der Nachmittag auch schon wieder vor\u00fcber und wir sind nach Hause.<\/p>\n
Sonntag 2. M\u00e4rz 2014<\/p>\n
Heute muss ich wieder einmal Ordnung machen und am Nachmittag gibts ein kleines Familientreffen. Kaffee und Kuchen bei meiner Gro\u00dfmutter. Am Abend fahren wir noch nach China Town um einen alten Freund meiner Mutter zu treffen. War wirklich nett.<\/p>\n
W\u00e4re ein wirklich sch\u00f6ner Tag gewesen, h\u00e4tte ich nicht um 22 Uhr eine SMS bekommen mit der Nachricht, dass unser Flug nach Sydney f\u00fcr morgen, Montag 8:00 Uhr, gestrichen wurde. Wir bekamen die Info zehn Stunden vor dem Flug und konnten nicht einmal mit der Airline in Kontakt treten, da ihre Service-Hotline erst ab 7:00 morgens besetzt ist. Hauptsache wir sind \u00fcber eine Stunde lang in der Schleife und es gibt keine Info. Nur auf der Homepage. Ziemlich \u00e4rgerlich das Ganze.<\/p>\n
Montag 3. M\u00e4rz 2014<\/p>\n
Nachdem ich noch bis um 1:30 Uhr morgens mich \u00fcber TigerAir ge\u00e4rgert hab, hab ich heute um 7 Uhr noch einmal angerufen und gefragt was ich f\u00fcr M\u00f6glichkeiten habe. Sie bot mir einen Flug um 13:30 an und nachdem ich frage ob ich denn sicher in diesen Flieger komme sagte sie: Nein, das kann ich leider nicht garantieren. Aber in einen weiteren Flug um 15:00 Uhr kann ich Sie sicher hineinsetzen. Ich frage ob ich eine Entsch\u00e4digung bekommen w\u00fcrde, daf\u00fcr dass ich einen ganzen Tag quasi verliere. Sie meint nur: entweder gratis Umbuchen des Fluges oder volle R\u00fcckerstattung der Reisekosten und Stornierung beider Fl\u00fcge. Ich hab mich f\u00fcr die Stornierung entschieden. Zu viel Aufregung f\u00fcr nur 4 Tage in Sydney.<\/p>\n
Wir entscheiden uns am Abend mit dem Auto nach Sydney zu fahren. Den Nachmittag genie\u00dfen wir noch am Strand und am Meer, gehen einkaufen und dann packen wir das Auto. Um 21:00 gehts los: 950 km in 9h, jeder eine dreist\u00fcndige Schicht durch die Nacht.<\/p>\n

Saturday March 1st 2014<\/p>\n
Today is the 100-year anniversary of the RAAF (Royal Australian Air Force). On March 1st 1914 the first aussie military plane took off at the airport in Point Cook. Not comparable with jets they use nowadays but it still was relevant to the happenings in WWI.<\/p>\n
On this military airport they had lots of planes on display. Unfortunately you could only have a closer look at a few of them. We started with going into the cargo area and the cockpit of a gigantic Boeing C-17. It can transport three helicopters, a troop of soldiers and a support vehicle all at the same time. It can even be used as patient transport carrier. The army can transport up to six critical patients with 1,5 staff per patient. Quite impressive.<\/p>\n
Then we have a closer look at the military helicopters and talked to the crew there. After that we still had the chance to go to the RAAF Museum, where I got some information about being a doctor at the military as a possibility for my future. \u00a0Then the afternoon was over again already and we drove home.<\/p>\n
Sunday March 2nd 2014<\/p>\n
Today I have to tidy and organize my stuff again and in the afternoon we have a small family reunion. Cake and coffee at my grandmother’s. \u00a0For dinner we drive to China town to meet an old friend of my mum. It was really nice.<\/p>\n
Would have been a really nice day if it wasn’t for the text message I received at 10 pm. It said that our flight for tomorrow, Monday 8 am, has been cancelled. They let us know ten hours before the scheduled flight and we can’t even contact the airline, since their service hotline is only available between 7am and noon. At least they keep us hold the line for more than an hour without any information. We have to check the website first. Very annoying.<\/p>\n
Monday March 3rd 2014<\/p>\n
After being up until 1:30 am and being upset with TigerAir, i call them again at 7:00 am and ask for further options for our trip. She offers a flight at 1:30 pm and when asking if we would definitely get on that plane, she said: No, unfortunately I can not guarantee that, but with the next one at 3:00 pm I can guarantee that. I ask if we would get any compensation, because we would lose an entire day. She only says: I can only re-book your flights or give you a full refund and cancel both flights. I opt for the cancellation and refund. \u00a0Far too much trouble for only four days in Sydney.<\/p>\n
We decide to drive to Sydney by car. We enjoy the afternoon at the beach, go shopping and pack our stuff into the car. At 9:00 pm we go: \u00a0950 km in 9 hours, everyone does a three hour shift of driving through the night.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
